The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, Lagos (TREM)- Abridged Sunday Sermon March 27.16- "The Mystery of Salvation" by Bishop M. Okonkwo

People don't go to hell because of sin, they go to hell because they have refused the cure for sin

The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, Lagos (TREM)

The Mystery of Salvation

Preacher: Bishop M. Okonkwo

Text: Mark 16:1-5

Highlights

1.       If he did not die then there's still sin to wipe. Every sin was completely dealt with that's why rose. Romans 4:25. He rose so that as a believer we can stand as if sin never existed. If you are still working around with self-condemnation, you are insulting the finished work of Christ. Heb 7:25. He is now speaking on my behalf.

2.   Jesus died so that his Will can take effect and He rose so that he himself will be the executor of his own will. Therefore there is no margin for failure.

3.   You must realise that you are chosen, peculiar unto God, covenant people and expect wherever you go, you will make it and covenant will always speak for you. The old covenant people never knew Jesus, only the law. But we have a better covenant. Read psalm 114: 1-. How can grave hold the person that created it.

4.  The new creation is a mystery to the devil. 1 Cor 2:8. Don't expect things to happen ordinarily in your life. Live your life with confident expectation. It's just a matter of when. Live your life expecting grace to work for u. Grace is not you working, it is God working.

5.    People don't go to hell because of sin, they go to hell because they have refused the cure for sin. The wages of sin is death and that is why Jesus died, so that you would not have to die. But if you accept his death, you have secured a place in heaven.

MFM LEKKI REGION 1 (IGBO EFON)- Sunday Sermon 27/03/16- YOU CAME WITH NOTHING - Pastor Olumide Oni

YOU CAME WITH NOTHING

Pastor Olumide Oni

Job 1:21, Numbers 23:10, James 4:7, James 1:8

Highlights

1.       Whether rich or poor, young or old, we all will die someday, where will you spend eternity? We brought nothing to this world and we will go with nothing.

2.      Your sin is your direct ticket to hellfire

3.      Live well as a child of GOD, it is not a crime to be rich or get big houses and cars but don't let money control your destiny.

4.      Every sin is sweet but at the end is total destruction.

5.      To stay away from sin is a good way to make heaven.

Four major things you must not forget;

1.       The day you came to this world
2.      The day you are happy
3.      The day you are sad
4.      The day you will die

What to do;

1.       Learn to forgive others
2.      Surrender your life to JESUS CHRIST
3.      Ask for forgiveness of all known and unknown sins

The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, Lagos (TREM)- Abridged Sunday Sermon March 13.16- "Let God do the work" by Bishop M. Okonkwo

The Redeemed Evangelical Mission

Preacher: Bishop M. Okonkwo

LET GOD DO THE WORK

Heb 8:6-13- 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 and they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away

Facts

1.             When called us to grace it doesn't mean we are lawless. No. He has given us a new law, the Law of liberty to do things for him.

2.            He will write his will in our hearts and lead us himself.

3.            Faith is easy to express when you know the person you're expressing already loves you.

4.            Love has already given you everything so learn to take and stop struggling. You need to feed on God's love for you. God’s love is irreversible, irrevocable and unconditional. Even when you have missed it and gone the wrong way, he forever loves you and is waiting for you to come back into his hands.

5.            Heb 8:10- “He will be our God”. Don't write yourself off. God has promised He is your God and He will be your God.

6.            When Jesus said it is finished, he finished it; the only thing we have to do is rest. Everything has been done and concluded. So you can't add to it. The only thing to do is thank God for it.

7.            You are my God and you shall be my people- We are his jewel. He would protect and jealously guard you from pestilence and all challenges. You must know that even if you were the only one in this world, he would have still died on the cross for your sake.

8.           Heb 8:12- All of these things will happen when you accept Jesus into your life. Then your past, present and future sins are forgiven. It will never happen that he would remember your sins. This means the price is permanently paid.

MFM LEKKI YOUTH CHURCH, LEKKI PHASE 1- Abridged Sunday sermon March 03.16- The travails of Job by Pastor Funmilola Kuku

The travails of Job

Preacher: Pastor Funmilola Kuku

Text- Job 1

Facts and Lessons to be learnt from the story of Job

1.            When you give the devil an inch he would take 10, 000 miles. Do not give the devil any room in your life.

2.            When you are faced with trials and obstacles just worship God.

3.            A Christian has no business with the spirit of fear.

4.            The people you expect to encourage you may end up not encouraging you. Job’s friends did not play the rightful role of encouraging him.

5.            The devil uses not only spiritual agents but human agents.

6.        The wisdom of God is that God wanted to elevate Job but God wanted to first take out his wife, children. After the demise of his wife and children and the loss of his property, God restored all he had lost in many folds.

7.           God never comes late.  God’s silence should does not mean silence.

8.          Behind every situation there’s a future significance. Don’t allow the problem overwhelm you, instead understand the significance and go through the problem trusting God.

9.      God can allow problems in your life to make you stronger and elevate you. If God is allowing you pass through a problem is to make you a pillar to those who would pass through a similar situation.

10.        Spiritual battles can never be fought physically.

11.         God speaks in diverse ways- still voice, vision, dream, impression of the heart.

The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Lagos (COZA)- Abridged Sunday sermon March 13/16- "ETERNITY IN VIEW" by Pastor Folarin Ogunsola

All goals should center to heaven....any goal that is not heavenward is not good

 The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly

ETERNITY IN VIEW

1 Samuel 30:18-19, 1 Kings 18:46

Pastor Folarin Ogunsola

Philippians 3:14 - I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus

The word “press” is to give yourself to something, or dedicate yourself to achieving a mission. You must set goals for God, yourself and for others.

Phil 3: 12- All goals should center to heaven. Any goal that isn't heavenward is not good.

Phil 3: 13 - One way to be heavenward is to continuously pursue purpose. Jesus called us and sent us back to the world.

Acts 9:6- God uses men these days to achieve his will on earth. Therefore, the first prayer for a Christian is the prayer of purpose.

Acts 9:12- Paul had a specific purpose to meet Ananias. God used Ananias to tell Paul his purpose. At this point he didn't have sight but he had vision. The greatest tragedy is having eyes but cannot see.

Romans 11:13 proves this purpose. He attended to the Gentiles and went onto the Kings and Jews. See Acts 21.

Some people’s destiny is attached to the destiny of others. There are some scales that are on people's eyes that unless you show up they won't fall.

Psalm 9:17 – Do not ever lose sight of God in the bid to pursue goals. If you can't see eternity in view, run away. Ecclesiastes 12:1. Do exploits, have impact but always have eternity in view. Ecclesiastes 11:9 (Msg), Matthew 16:26 (MSG)

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

Psalm 23, John 10:27, Hebrews 12:2-3

For the promises in psalm 23 to manifest in your life, the LORD has to be your shepherd and you have to be a sheep. In the house of GOD, there are dogs, pigs, cats, rams, bats etc. Also, for your wants and need to be met, you need to be a sheep.

4.      Don't go about looking for food but follow the leading of their shepherd.

If you are a sheep, you must listen to the following voices:

1.       Voice of  the HOLY SPIRIT

3.      Voice of the word of GOD
4.      Voice of true men of GOD

How to develop to be a sheep;

MFM HQ YOUTH CHURCH SUNDAY SERVICE (28/02/2016)- By Whom Shall Jacob Arise? - Pastor Wole Daniels

By whom shall Jacob Arise? By God only.

Topic: By Whom Shall Jacob Arise?

Preacher: Pastor Wole Daniels

Text: Amos 7:1-2- Thus hath the Lord God shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord God, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small

From our anchor scripture, the swarm of locusts will come in after the king has taken his on portion of the harvest. So, more or less there isn't any left over.

Facts to note:
1.       There is a king who takes first i.e. the best (evil kings)
2.     Latter growth is something that may or may not come, whereas there is a king who has taken the best at the beginning.
3.      Locusts are insects that finish whatsoever they stumble upon
4.     Locust are powers that consume to a level where a man is not able to rise after the first portion has been taken away.
5.      There is also another time {i.e. the beginning of the latter growth}.
6.  The enemy prepares locusts to what is coming up. They can be likened to powers ordained to make an end of one's life.

What are Spiritual Locusts?
1.       Household Witchcraft
2.      Unfriendly Friends
3.      Envious Colleagues
4.      Demonic Neighbours

Signs of the Operations of the Locusts

1.   Prayerlessness- When God wants to help a person, He gives the individual a spirit of prayer to break doors. Therefore, whenever your prayer life is been attacked, know your breakthrough is close.
2.      Careless Living
3.      Love of the World (sinful life)
* The enemy knows they cannot attack a child of God until they break his/her defense. They make the individual to break his/her defense through sins, so the serpent can bite.

Way Out

1.       Repent and give your life to Christ.
2.      Draw closer to God deliberately.
3.      Submit yourself to God's plan i.e don’t stuggle with God
4.      Take your eyes off Men i.e focus on God
5.      Ask for prevalence in the place of Prayer.
