People don't go to hell because of sin, they go to hell because they have refused the cure for sin

The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, Lagos (TREM)

The Mystery of Salvation

Preacher: Bishop M. Okonkwo

Text: Mark 16:1-5

Highlights

1.       If he did not die then there's still sin to wipe. Every sin was completely dealt with that's why rose. Romans 4:25. He rose so that as a believer we can stand as if sin never existed. If you are still working around with self-condemnation, you are insulting the finished work of Christ. Heb 7:25. He is now speaking on my behalf.

2.   Jesus died so that his Will can take effect and He rose so that he himself will be the executor of his own will. Therefore there is no margin for failure.

3.   You must realise that you are chosen, peculiar unto God, covenant people and expect wherever you go, you will make it and covenant will always speak for you. The old covenant people never knew Jesus, only the law. But we have a better covenant. Read psalm 114: 1-. How can grave hold the person that created it.

4.  The new creation is a mystery to the devil. 1 Cor 2:8. Don't expect things to happen ordinarily in your life. Live your life with confident expectation. It's just a matter of when. Live your life expecting grace to work for u. Grace is not you working, it is God working.

5.    People don't go to hell because of sin, they go to hell because they have refused the cure for sin. The wages of sin is death and that is why Jesus died, so that you would not have to die. But if you accept his death, you have secured a place in heaven.
